Which areas do you serve? If I don't have lessons in my community, how do we get Bob Swim Co at our pools?
We currently serve select neighborhood pools in Boise and surrounding cities! If you're interested in getting Bob Swim Co lessons in your community, the best way is to contact one of your HOA Board Members and put them in touch with Alex@bobswimco.com.
Are you insured?
Yes! At Bob Swim Co, we prioritize safety and peace of mind of our customers.
How do I make sure my child gets placed in the right swim lesson level?
After paying for our Kids Group Swim Lessons please make sure to check your email for our Swim Level Survey. At the end of the survey, you will receive information of your child's placement. We base placement off the age and skill level we receive from that survey and our instructors will reassess at the first lesson to make sure it's the right fit. Of course, if you have any thoughts or concerns before the first lesson, don't hesitate to contact us.
I took the Swim Survey but I didn't get an email for the lesson placement.
If you've already checked your email's spam or junk folder, please reach out to us from our Contact page and we can assist you.
Is there a $20 registration fee per swimmer?
Yes, this is a one time payment and includes a Bob Swim Co Tshirt and helps us cover insurance for the year.
How long will it take for my child to learn to swim?
Every child learns at their own pace. There's no set timeframe, as some children grasp certain skills more quickly than others. Practicing swimming outside of lessons can often accelerate progress. It's normal to see periods of rapid improvement, plateaus, and even occasional setbacks. Consistent practice is key.
At what age can my child begin swim lessons at Bob Swim Co?
We offer classes for ages 4 and up and we hope to offer baby and infant classes at a later date. Children can be brought into the water as early as 6 months. Baths or even showers with children younger can help children get used to water in their face and feel more comfortable in the water.
What can my child expect at swim lessons?
At Bob Swim Co, We like to keep the children moving. We break the stroke down and teach each phase. As they get more efficient, we teach the more technical aspects of the stroke. We teach in the order of breathing, body line, kicking, then swimming. Our instructors teach and then ask questions. We always ask, "Why", and we expect responses. Most lessons are about 30 minutes long with a focus on active participation.
